First Baptist Church & Ministries

Thursday, October 1, 2020

This event will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, in the second-floor chapel of the Administrative Office Building. The event will conclude on Friday evening, October 2, after the Chicago activity.

The cost is $25 per person, which includes the conference, resources, and two meals (supper on Thursday and lunch on Friday). There will be an optional activity of an evening in Chicago on Friday, October 2, for $10 per person, which includes entertaining transportation there and back.

This event is designed to encourage Christian workers, to evaluate needs and ideas, and to educate each other on furthering the Gospel in our communities. During breakaways, delegates will be given opportunities to go to our church offices and talk with staff members regarding the bus ministry, Sunday school, finances, music, secretarial work, building maintenance, discipleship, youth work, and over 15 other practical ministry helps. There will also be forums, such as “Dealing With Difficult People,” “Managing Your Missionaries,” “Shepherding: The Biblical Pastor,” “Practical Church Giving,” “Civil Issues From a Biblical Perspective,” “Improving Your Virtual Ministry,” and “Connecting With Civic Leaders.”

Topic and forum speakers will include Pastor Zane Abberger of Lakeview Baptist Church in Lakeview, Michigan; Pastor Steve Frost of Shawnee Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky; Pastor Scott Hanks of Heritage Baptist Church in Lawrence, Kansas; Pastor Steve Hobbins of Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan; Pastor Greg Ogle of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Illinois; Pastor Todd Poynter of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church in Greenwood, Indiana; as well as FBC Hammond ministry staff members!
